seeds

We're finally seeing signs of spring here in PA. I'm starting to hear the sound of chirping birds in the morning. We're uncovering our grill more often to fulfill requests for steak and burgers. My flowers are popping up from the ground, and I have more buds on my lilac tree than ever before.

I'll soon be enjoying quiet mornings with my small vegetable garden. This year, I've stepped into the new world of starting plants from seeds indoors. My bedroom window has looked like this for weeks...

I was a little nervous about my not-so-green thumb. I've been improving over the years, but indoor plants have not always loved me. These little babies seem to be doing okay, though. As long as they keep growing {and I don't screw it up}, they should be ready to embrace their new garden home in May.

{oregano}

{chili peppers}

{hungarian wax peppers}

{parsley}

{cherry tomatoes}

My lavender never showed up for the party, so I'll have to try again on that one. Everything else that will {hopefully} grow in my garden this year will be directly seeded soon...lettuce, spinach, snow peas, black beans, carrots, italian green beans...

I'm excited! New life, warm weather, smaller grocery bills...

What are you growing this year? Have you started anything from seed?

All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.

Yay, spring! Bring it on, I say.

You're going to have lots of great vegetables!

LOok at you....you have a BIG green thumb! I never started seeds but have been wanting too..I have been saving "containers" with hopes of starting plants from seeds..maybe I should get started. What soil do you use? Maybe you could help my brown thumb turn a shade of green!

Look at you and your green thumb. It is looking great. I wish I could have done it this year, but since I am going to be in Norway all summer there were no use in starting anything here. But I did buy some strawberry plants to see if I can get more this year than last year since I have doubled my plants now. I might plant something with my neighbor, but I don't know if I will start it from seed though.
Can't wait to see what it will look like later in the summer.
