The Next Chapter...Teen Years

I don't understand how 13 years can fly by in the blink of an eye.

How do diapers give way to deodorant?

How does the baby turn into the dependable big brother?

Blankies are replaced with mp3 players.

I still remember holding that happy baby boy.

And while part of me is sad that you're growing up so quickly...

I'm having so much fun along the way!

You've been a blessing from the very beginning.

You've changed my life.

I feel so blessed to watch you grow into the man God created you to be.

Just don't go too "teen" on me...'kay?

Happy Birthday, Dutch!
I love you!

Oh so sweet! Happy Birthday to your handsome son!

Our daughter turns 12 this year...we too are wondering where the time went...

Hope your day is blessed together as a family.

Happy birthday.
The years all pass way to quickly. I sometimes feel like my 6 year old is showing teen attitudes, but then all of the sudden she is on the floor playing with her ponies and her dolls again and I say a quiet prayer and hope she will stay this way a lot longer.
Going to the mall I see all these tweens and teens hanging out and shopping, remembering myself at that age loving the monthly trip to town to go shopping, but also still loving to play with my legos and being outside playing tag.
I am scared sometimes that my little girls will grow up too fast, but so far so good as I still have not heard Isabel ask for any High School musical stuff and she still loves to play.
Happy birthday again, I hope he has a fun day.

Girl...13...what?!? I have a vivid memory of coming to see you and Dutch in the hospital when he was born. At that time, he was the smallest baby I had ever held. Plus, I remember thinking, "maybe childbirth isn't that bad...Marie looks awesome!" Of course, I've come to find out you just make hard things look easy!;) Give him a birthday squeeze from us!

What a great post!
The teen years with my kids have been a real joy for me, so don't believe all the bad things you hear. :)

I can still remember that sweet face at pre-school. How can we be parents of teens already?

My son turned 13 this year, too. It's crazy how the time of our parenting is almost up. I can see your son has changed in his looks so much, like how his face shape is so different. I know, obvious comment. This hit me today as I was noticing my son's leggs and how huge they are now. One of his calf muscles is almost two of mine. Are you noticing how much they want to sleep at this age? Thank goodness for homeschooling!
