Summer Sum-up

Hi, Peeps! How was your summer? Hopefully, you've enjoyed sunshine and family and laughs and campfires...fireflies and friends and picnics...everything great about those long warm days that make up a relaxed but fast-moving summer.

Somewhere in the middle of those wonderful summer traditions, I managed to get some painting done...the kids finally have color on their walls. After striping up the oldest son's room, you know I got ideas and requests for some pretty interesting designs for his brother's space! He happily settled on this:

It's hard to tell in the pics, but the bottom of the wall has a metallic finish.

My little Tootsie could not decide on one, or even two colors.

We still need to hang some things on the walls, but the tough part is finished.

We started our 2011-2012 homeschool year today...and I squished and juiced tomatoes for spaghetti sauce in the afternoon. My hubby spoiled me by finishing off the dishes after dinner, so I had time to paint an eager little girl's fingernails and toenails glittery purple and green and read Knuffle Bunny before bedtime.

I'm always a little sad to see summer passing by, and yet I can't help but feel excited about the possibilities wrapped up in autumn leaves. Isn't God cool? Change isn't always bad :)

Thanks for stopping by!

We are still somewhat in summer modus, at least the kids.
I have not had time to blog since I came from Norway though I have someone making a new look for my blog now.
When I came home I found out that my friend and I are now the new coordinators for my MOPS group. It has been a lot of work getting things ready for our start in September.
Then on Wednesday Isabel's homeschooling program in Norwegian starts again and the American public school starts the first week of September.
Okey, now I am feeling stressed. Got to get something done, but first I got to read some more blogs ;)
Good luck with your new schoolyear. Looking forward to seeing what you are doing this year.

Great to see you Marie! The children's bedrooms turned out beautifully.

We started school a few weeks ago and are enjoying the structure school brings, but are also eager to get out and do some field trips too.

Can't wait for the cool fall weather too!

All my best to you,
Susan

I LOVE Tootsie's room! Why not use all your favorite colors at once? It's a really cute room. The metallic paint is pretty cool, too.
You put me in the mood to paint something!

She is right to not choose one color. I love her room, and her chair is beautiful. I think the comforter set my daughter picked for her bridle registry has that paisly print in it. The days of decorating my daughter's bedroom have so quickly grown into choosing housewares for her own home. Crazy how time flies. Yes, not all change is bad.
