Shin splints: a general term used to refer to a painful condition in the shins. It is often caused by running, jumping, dancing or sprinting and may be very slow to heal. A formal medical term for the condition is medial tibial stress syndrome.
Yeah. Not fun. I hate that I'm noticing improvement in fitness level, only to be stopped by shin pain. We're going camping this weekend, so I'm happy to have a little break from Insanity. Ice. Wrap. Rest. Vacation.
This will be our first camping trip as adults. Both The Hubs and I have camping memories from childhood. This is a whole different ball game! I'll share pics from our adventure next week...
Have a wonderful weekend!

Have a great time camping! I always get shin splints when I run. The Hubs says its because I sound like an elephant even though I look like an average sized woman ;)
Yeah...My Hubs kinda delicately told me the same thing. I told him I didn't think that was it. I'm sure it's just because I'm giving 110% (can you picture his eye-rolling?:)
Have fun camping~it sounds like you could use a rest.
I've never had shin splints, but it doesn't sound good. Take care.
I'm looking forward to it. Although, it remains to be seen if camping=rest with these three munchkins. Pretty sure there will be no jumping jacks, butt kicks, or push ups involved...so that's a start:)
I am so sorry you got shin splints. I think some people are just prone to getting them. I am not even allowed to jog/run because I get them almost just thinking about it.
My two kids and I are going camping this year for a week without the hubby with our church. It is going to be so much fun. Last year my oldest and I went camping in grandmas yard a week before my due date with the youngest. That was fun (insane).
You are in for a lot of fun.
Thank you for becomming a follower of my blog. I am now follower of yours.
Wow...camping when you're that pregnant! I'm impressed! I'm sure you'll always remember that adventure:) Thanks for following!
I hope you guys had a blast camping and that the shin splints are better. Make sure you rest them. In HS, I got a stress fracture two years in a row due to untreated shin splints...not fun.
Today was my first day back on the treadmill in over 3 months. I'm a far cry from your 'intensity' craziness! You go, girl!!!
