When life is buried in snow...make ice cream!

This recipe is from Laura at Heavenly Homemakers. We tried it today, and the kids really enjoyed it. What else are we going to do with all this white stuff?

Fill a cereal-sized bowl with snow. Add 1/4 tsp vanilla, 1-3 Tbsp maple syrup, and 4-6 Tbsp heavy cream or milk. Stir. If it's too runny, add more snow.

This was so easy and kind of fun! Happy shoveling!

I have been seeing so many recipes for this "ice cream." It's the first time I've ever heard about it. I'm just trying to get over the idea of eating the snow...who knows what's in there?!? I know, I know...I'm a total paranoid freak!

How are you guys doing with all of your snow. You all were definitely hit harder this time around than we were. Are you surviving the cabin fever? Hope we can catch up soon...I'll try to call later today.
love,

You sound like a city girl! ;) I figure one bowl of snow is nothing compared to the artificial junk and preservatives in some of the food we eat. (And it's really fun and yummy!)

We were definitely hit this time around. We didn't even bother shoveling yesterday, because it was blowing too much. Today's our dig out day. Love ya & talk to ya soon!
